The Legacy of Painted Oak Nature School
From 2012–2025, Painted Oak Nature School was a place where children grew wild and free — climbing trees, discovering streams, and learning through the rhythms of the natural world.

For 13 years, families trusted us to nurture their children’s wonder, curiosity, and love of the outdoors. Together, we built a thriving community that believed childhood is best lived outside.

In June 2025, we closed our doors as a school. But Painted Oak was never just about one place — it was about a philosophy, a way of seeing children, and a belief that learning flourishes in nature.

That vision now continues through the Painted Oak Project.

Here, we carry forward the roots of Painted Oak Nature School — consulting with schools, teachers, families, and organizations to inspire outdoor learning everywhere. And through part-time programs and seasonal experiences, we continue to create spaces where children can grow in the wild.

Thank you to every child, parent, teacher, and friend who helped make Painted Oak Nature School a living, breathing dream. The story doesn’t end here — it is still being written.
